My first time observing was for Ed tech my first day I was kinda nervous just because I was very unsure of the age considering I have always thought I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. The first thing the students did when they arrived to class was get started on there daily math or bellwork. The students already knew exactly what to do with very few reminders. The teacher warned me at the beginning of that class that they would be test prep that day so no lesson and very slow. The students were given a free day the next day if they went up or got a higher score this helped the students stay motivated and on task.
My second day observing was my first Intro to Ed observation. This was the day that the students got awarded if they went up on test score the previous day. They still started their day off the same with daily math. Then after they went over a completed there daily math they were given a free day for growing on there test. Overall there free day was very well managed and successful.
My second day observing for Ed tech they started their day off like always with daily math. This day they were learning about triangles and how to define them. She went over the new lesson with the class using there books and when she felt the students had learned all the content she then gave them an assessment located on I-ready. This would give the teacher almost direct responses. This would allow the teacher to know how much she needed to review the next day.
My second observation for Intro to education the teacher was reviewing and going over parallel and perpendicular lines. She used a song to help the students understand and memorize the concept. She asked the students to do their work independently then as a class they reviewed. She also used the white board for students to come to the front and write the answer and how they got that answer. Also when one of the students was not acting like they were suppose to she quietly acknowledged him and guided him in the right way.
Overall I am so happy with the first 4 observations in her class it helped me gain a better understanding of being a teacher. She also helped me learn new teaching strategies for my mini teach and my classroom one day.
